BIOGRAPHY

Whether you are contemplating the purchase your first home, upgrading your existing home, downsizing, building a rental portfolio, or you are relocating to Austin, I am your partner in planning your future.

I help my clients achieve their short and long-term goals by becoming educated buyers and sellers who can navigate the competitive market with confidence.  Knowing that the long-term success of my clients is more important than any single transaction has allowed me to build my business exclusively by referral. I stick with my clients through all stages of home ownership, helping them make the most of their home and investment.

As your Realtor I bring my unique experience and knowledge of remodeling and investment, which I love to share with my clients.   I grew up in Portland, Oregon, in an older neighborhood undergoing enormous change due to growth (like many Austin neighborhoods). My interest in residential architecture was sparked seeing how a house can grow with its owners and, if done right, become a valuable investment.

Inspired by the hands-on process of remodeling, after graduating from college I developed skills to become a carpenter with a residential remodeling company. Later I joined a team of craftspeople in San Francisco restoring facades of Victorian homes, recreating by hand all the “gingerbread” ornamentation that had been removed when Victorians went out of fashion.

In 2000 I moved to Austin where I received my Master’s Degree in Historic Preservation/Architectural History. Like many one-time UT students, I fell in love with the city and made it my permanent home. Shortly after arriving, my husband and I purchased our first house, which eventually became the beginning of our rental portfolio.  Today we live with our two kids in a 1962 home, purchased from the original owners, which is a source of joy and continuous projects!

Whether you purchased your home with me or not, I am always happy to provide referrals, consultations, and help with strategic planning when it comes to Real Estate.

In early 2017 my wife Emily and I decided it was time to buy our first house. We were fairly intimidated by the Austin market and really needed someone who could help us through the process. We decided that Hannah would be a great choice for us based on her understanding of the Austin market and her easy going demeanor. Hannah listened to what we wanted and helped us to develop a realistic understanding of what we should expect to find within our budget. Hannah was always available to answer questions or show us a house. We closed in the summer of 2017 on our favorite house that we looked at over several months. Hannah’s patience and guidance was essential. Hannah’s service doesn’t end after closing either. Hannah is still in regular contact about tax issues, contractor referrals and many other issues that arise with homeownership. I am very happy that Hannah is my realtor and I can’t recommend her enough.
