♫ Whooooo Are You... Who Who Who Who

What do “Who Are You” (The Who), “Blinded by the Light” (Manfred Mann’s Earth Band), “We Are the Champions” (Queen), “Magic Carpet Ride” (Steppenwolf), “American Girl” (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers), and “Rapper’s Delight” (Sugar Hill Gang) all have in common?

These songs (and many more, but these staples were regularly on rotation), along with my older brother Joe and our countless drives to and from swim practice throughout our teen years, were integral in not only shaping my musical tastes, but also impacting my teen years and who I am today.  Music, regardless of who’s singing, the genre, style, venue, etc., tends to have a big impact on all of our lives.  One big theme I see throughout history is its ability to bring people together (whether in the car or at a concert) to gather and celebrate time with each other, regardless of who you are or where you've been... it’s a common denominator for many of us.

My first concert experience was seeing REO Speedwagon with my swim team.  I couldn’t tell you now what songs were played and, at the time, I didn’t really care about who was playing at the show, just that I was there with my friends experiencing my first concert ever.  I also didn’t know at the time that I would end up living in Austin, Texas, otherwise known as the “Live Music Capital of the World”, but here I am… and I couldn’t be more happy or grateful to be here!

Which is why I’m particularly excited about this month’s Item of Value – an opportunity for you to score tickets to Austin’s biggest outdoor festival, ACL!  Visit www.HindsiteAustin.com to register to win a pair of 3-day weekend passes to this iconic event.  Whether it will be your first concert or your 50th, I hope it will create memories for you that you’ll look back on fondly for many years to come.

It’s a good life!
