Good Music is Good Music

It was the fall of 1989 and my freshman year of college.  My roommate was big fan of Metallica, Motley Crew, etc. which, at the time, was music that wasn’t “my jam.”  In high school I had hung out with a crowd that was mostly into “new wave” or “alternative.”  The Cure, New Order, etc.… pretty much the soundtracks of all the John Hughes movies.  However, after my freshman roommate played the Master of Puppets and Dr. Feelgood albums over 100 hundred times each, they, along with his other musical tastes, grew on me.

Before we knew it, the convergence of alternative, metal, hip hop and more ushered in the grunge craze of the early ‘90s and musical festivals such as Lollapalooza.  For the rest of the decade, I was stuck always looking for the next band that was, in essence, a reiteration of the next grunge sound.  Then I ended up in Austin in 1997 where my tastes expanded somewhat… but then ACL Fest hit!  I actually didn’t go the inaugural year but since the second festival in 2003, I’ve gone every year.  The diverse sounds of completely different genres and styles have completely given me an expansive and varied taste in music.  Good music is good music!

Similarly to real estate, I have and can appreciate the diverse tastes and needs of my clients.  Whether you’re after the quaint eclectic house on the eastside or you need your peaceful expansive sanctuary far away from hustle and bustle, a good home is a good home.  And, I can appreciate and help with whatever lineup of needs that you’re after.  Buying and selling homes is exhilarating, but there’s a rhythm to it that can seem disorienting if you aren’t familiar with it, like a new band with an eclectic sound.  In my role as your personal guide, I promise that you’ll have the VIP experience of a lifetime and build lasting memories.

As this month’s Item of Value, we are giving you the chance to win a pair of 3-day weekend passes to ACL Music Festival this fall.  Whether it’s your first concert or you’re a raving fan, ACL will ignite your senses and allow you to celebrate (along with nearly 450,000 of your closest friends) what makes our city legendary.  Register at www.HindsiteAustin.com (or click here) and remember, it’s always a good idea to check out what’s playing at the Tito’s tent!

It’s a good life!
