I Get by With a Little Help from My Friends

I’ve recently come to the realization that when it comes to music, I’m like the Beatles: “I get by with a little help from my friends.”  Literally, almost every concert I’ve been to has been because someone else initiated it and I tagged along.  My very first concert ever was David Bowie’s 1987 Glass Spider Tour, and I only went because someone else got grounded, and my friend called at the last minute looking for someone to use the extra ticket.  Boy am I glad I did!  Shortly thereafter I saw the Bangles (Walk Like an Egyptian) because my best friend was going to TOTALLY DIE if she didn’t see them, and she needed someone to go with her.  Fast forward to this past weekend: Taylor had tickets to see a show with our son, Phoenix, but he was so exhausted after the first week of school, he just couldn’t make it, so… I went instead and saw the Black Pumas at the Mohawk.  This Austin-based band put on an amazing show before heading out for their first international tour!

I’m not one to keep up with music, I don’t know the names of bands, or who’s playing where, I just know that when I hear what I like it makes me happy.  Fortunately, I’ve had people throughout my life that DO geek-out over music and they’ve helped me get out and enjoy some really great live music over the years.

I geek-out when it comes to real estate, and that’s where I get to give a little help to my friends (you).  I love to think about market forces, housing trends, wealth-building strategies, home renovation and planning, even repairs!  I am always honored to be on the homeownership journey with my clients, and love it when I can help them think strategically and introduce them to new ideas.  Whether it’s your first home or your fifth, the experience of buying and selling homes is exhilarating, but there’s a rhythm to it that can seem disorienting if you aren’t familiar with it, like a new band with an eclectic sound.

This month I’d like to pay it forward and help someone else get out and see some amazing music that they might not have otherwise.  This month’s Item of Value is an opportunity to score tickets to Austin’s biggest outdoor festival, ACL!  Visit www.HindsiteAustin.com (or CLICK HERE) to register to win a pair of 3-day weekend passes to this iconic event.  If you win, I hope you have a blast… and you don’t even worry if you sing out of key!

It’s a good life!
